Contractor Background Screening

Texas Instruments
WWPS Security - Background Investigation Process

Prior to creating an XID account and number for the contractor, the contracting company must initiate a background check from one of the approved background check vendors before the TI Sponsor creates an XID in the system. The contractor cannot be issued a badge and/or given XID access to TI without it. Background checks from any of these two companies will be accepted by TI Worldwide Protective Services. Once a background check has been submitted, please forward the following information to the badge room via email to badge@list.ti.com :

1) XID Number, 2) Person’s Name, 3) Name of the Background Company used, along with the CID/BI/Order Reference Number

You will be emailed or called back with a response on the status.

Prior to a contractor receiving a contractor badge at any U.S. TI location, a background check must be completed by one of the two companies listed below.

ISP/ProMesa

  1. Contracting companies should contact Belinda Goodman at Belinda.goodman@integratedscreening.com or by phone at (512) 891-6060 / (800) 474-4420 x1642. Belinda will ensure the background account is set up properly and the results are scored against the TI requirements.
  2. The contracting company will be directed to a web address, which will prompt them for the required information and instructions to order the background check online.
  3. Once the background check is complete, ISP will send the contracting company an email confirming the check has been completed. If the contractor has passed or shows non-compliant, your company will need to email the badge room.  The Badge room personnel will login in under their account to the ISP system to confirm the background check has been completed with a pass or fail score.  If the contractor fails, they should NOT go to the badge room.  They may contact ISP directly to inquire further.

Sterling Backcheck

  1. Contracting companies should contact Eva Dray at eva.dray@sterlingts.com or by phone, Office 888-889-5248.  Eva will ensure the background account is set up properly and the results are scored against the TI requirements.
  2. The contracting company will be directed to a web address which will prompt them for the required information and can order the background check online.
  3. Once the background check is complete, Sterling InfoSystems will send the contracting company an email confirming the check has been completed. If the contractor has passed or shows non-compliant, your company will need to email the badge room. The Badge room personnel will login in under their account to the Sterling InfoSystems system to confirm the background check has been completed with a pass or fail score. If the contractor fails, they should NOT go to the badge room. They may contact Sterling InfoSystems directly to inquire further.

Contractors convicted of any Felony crime may be ineligible to receive a TI badge.

Contractors convicted of a Misdemeanor crime involving Theft, Weapons, Drug/Narcotics, Crimes of Violence, or Sexual Offenses within the past seven (7) years may be ineligible to receive a TI badge.  Contractors with active arrest warrants shall be ineligible to receive a TI badge.

Notes:

For questions related to the process, contact Yolanda Scott at yolanda@ti.com  or 214-429-2014, or the Dallas Badge Room at 214-429-2206.

TI personnel do not have access, store, or maintain any personal data provided by the contractors to the background check companies.  TI personnel do not have access to the entire background check reports or findings; they just see a pass/fail score.  Contractor background checks must be renewed every three (3) years.  TI sponsors receive system generated email renewal notifications prior to badge expiration.
