Production Part Approval Process

Form

Texas Instruments Semiconductor Group has been certified to the
IATF 16949 standard (latest revision). This quality system is aligned with global automotive industry standards.

IATF 16949 standard (latest revision) specifies the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products. TI supplies products to automotive customers and one of the requirements is PPAP submission.

The purpose of PPAP is to determine if all customer engineering design record and specification requirements are properly understood by the supplier and that the manufacturing process has the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements during an actual production run.

TI's PPAP requirement is detailed in document 6458266-Supplier PPAP Submission Process. Submission requirement is Level 1 which means, the suppliers will submit only the Part Submission Warrant form (PSW) and retain the PPAP elements i.e. SPC, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Process FMEA and others. These PPAP elements shall be made available to TI upon request.

Contact TI WW Purchasing and Logistics (WPL) representative if you have questions.

PPAP manual is published by the Automotive Industrial Action Group (AIAG) and is available through their website http://www.aiag.org/
